Apply to showcase your art at Telluride Gay Ski Week

Telluride Gay Ski Week is thrilled to team up with Telluride Arts to give queer-identifying artists and allies a chance to display their art during Telluride Gay Ski Week at Telluride Arts HQ! The organizations are jointly accepting proposals for wall art, sculpture, and jewelry for a group exhibition!

All queer-identifying artists and allies are encouraged to apply. All artistic content is eligible, and artists are encouraged to consider the context of Telluride Gay Ski Week. Wall-hanging artists may propose between 1-8 pieces for consideration. A show committee will make recommendations and selections from the proposed works.

Located on Telluride’s Main Street (Colorado Ave) Telluride Arts HQ is a bright and welcoming space that receives tons of foot traffic. Telluride Gay Ski Week will kick off the week at Telluride Arts HQ with our Opening Reception Saturday, February 24 featuring DJ Leaux.

How To Apply

Interested artists can apply on the Telluride Arts website from now until January 15. Proposals for wall art, sculpture, and jewelry will be accepted from all queer-identifying artists and allies. Artists may propose between 1-8 pieces for consideration. New work is not required, though it is suggested that pre-existing work has not been shown in Telluride in the last year. A show committee will make recommendations and selections from the proposed works by January 19.

    • Wall-hanging artists may propose between 1-8 pieces, of any size, for consideration. A show committee will make recommendations and selections from the proposed works.

    • Show runtime | February 1 - March 2, 2024

    • Telluride Gay Ski Week Opening Party | February 24, 2024

  • The Agreement

    • Artists Responsibilities will be detailed in the contract issued at time of agreement. Here are some basics:

    • All work is available for sale through Telluride Arts at the time of exhibit. We handle promotion, insurance, taxes, fees and help with shipping. Sales split is 60-40, artist/Telluride Arts.

    • Artists transport or ship work to and from the venue.

    • Artwork should be framed (or finished for exhibit) and must be ready to hang with durable hardware.

    • Artists are encouraged to show up for the two receptions.

    • Telluride Arts and Telluride Gay Ski Week will market the show through social media, website, newsletter, regional and state-wide press releases, and print materials.
